Joe graduated from Leeds University in 1988 and became principal of the practice in 1992. In 1997, he was responsible for the relocation, new design and construction of the current premises. Joe has treated generations of many families and is a well respected member of the community. He is a well experienced practitioner in all aspects of dentistry with an interest in politics and currently holds position as the chair of the Local Dental Committee.
In his spare time, Joe enjoys bike riding and is an avid golfer. He is a supporter of Leeds United Football Club. Joe also has two lovely daughters who he enjoys cooking for on the weekends.
Leila is a long standing member of the practice and has been part of the team since 2003. Over the years her calm and reassuring nature has made her a trustworthy dentist who is known amongst patients for providing quality care in a gentle manner. Leila is keen to continue her learning and has also recently completed an MA in biomedical and healthcare ethics at Leeds University. She now engages in teaching this topic part-time to dental students at the Leeds Dental Institute.
In her free time, Leila likes to keep fit by going for regular runs and weight training whilst also playing for her local women’s football team. She also has a flare for crafts including sewing.
David joined the practice in 2004 after previously training and working in Scotland. He graduated from Glasgow university and thereafter developed his skills working in community dentistry treating special needs children and adults.He has also worked at the Edinburgh Dental Institute providing emergency care and performing minor oral surgery as a result. He is particularly skilled in performing difficult extractions and enjoys treating anxious adults.
His humourous and relaxed manner makes David popular with both patients and colleagues alike. Outside of work, David enjoys travelling around the world with his family and experiencing different cultures. David also likes to keep fit by going running!
Zoe graduated from Leeds University and joined the practice in 2008. She is passionate about dentistry and enjoys expanding on her skill set to provide the best treatment for her patients. She has a keen eye for aesthetics and offers facial rejuvenation treatments. Her natural eye for perfection will allow you to reach a beautiful, natural and balanced result in a safe environment.
Zoe is also part of the local dental committee where she holds the role of Treasurer. Outside of work, Zoe enjoys Yoga and spending time with her family & friends.
Harriet qualified from Newcastle University in 2017 and joined our team in September 2020 after moving back home to Wakefield. She is enthusiastic about providing the best care possible to all members of the family and currently studying for a postgraduate diploma in restorative dentistry. As well as enjoying general dentistry, Harriet is interested in cosmetic dentistry providing Invisalign, whitening and composite bonding- creating beautiful smiles.
In her free time Harriet finds a balance between keeping fit doing CrossFit and trying out all the restaurants in her new area. She is also keeps busy renovating her new house!
Safira joined our practice after completing her foundation training in Wakefield. Safira graduated from Liverpool University in 2018 and is keen to learn new skills and develop herself to provide the utmost quality treatment to our patients. She is an Invisalign teeth-straightening provider and enjoys working with her patients to boost their self-confidence and create smile transformations. She particularly enjoys treating children including visiting our local schools to provide oral health education whilst desensitising children to the stigma associated with dentists.
Outside of work, Safira is a real foodie and enjoys sampling new world cuisines and restaurants. If you don’t find her at the practice then she’s usually spending her time relaxing in a spa!
Nicola graduated from the University of Leeds as a dual qualified Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist in 2008. She joined the practice in?
She is an enthusiastic member of our team and her bubbly character enables patients to receive oral health advice in a fun and practical manner.
Her favourite part of the job is seeing patients transform their oral hygiene habits over their dental journey and leave with happier healthier smiles. In her free time, Nicola likes to get creative with exploring fashion and interior designing her home.
Tina graduated from the university of Leeds in dental hygiene and therapy. She particularly enjoys working with children as well as providing preventative dentistry. Her smart and witty nature is popular with our gum disease patients as she’ll be sure to educate you thoroughly on your oral hygiene and help get your gum health back on track! In her free time, Tina likes going out to eat and going on walks with her two lovely daughters.
Louise joined our team in 2008 and became a fully qualified dental nurse in 2010. She has been working with her partner in crime, dentist Joe, ever since! She adores being part of a small family business like ourselves and has truly been able to build a bond with the patients over the years and seen generations of families come through our doors. In her spare time, Louise enjoys listening to music and loves travelling the world with her partner to experience new cultures.
Charlene is one of the longest standing members of the team at St Michaels having joined the practice in 2001. She completed her training as a dental nurse in 2003 and is qualified in radiography, impressions-taking and fluoride application. She is truly passionate about the profession with her humorous nature allowing her to put patients at ease. She takes great pride in ensuring patients are supported throughout their journey. In her spare time Charlene enjoys keeping fit by going running!
Faheema is one of our dental nurses and has been at the practice for over 10 years. She is trained in radiography and is also head of stock control at the practice. She is passionate about looking after of our patients. Her selfless nature extends outside of work as she dedicates time to help with the charity Blind Dogs. Faheema is also a football enthusiast supporting Liverpool Football Club!
Holly joined the practice in 2010 and qualified as a dental nurse in 2013. She particularly enjoys the oral surgery aspect of dentistry and receives daily satisfaction in helping relieve patient of pain. Holly transfers the manual dexterity from her job to her free time as she enjoys getting creative with sketching and drawing.

Leanne qualified as a dental nurse in 2010 and joined the team in 2016. Leanne’s key strengths are organising the clinics and making sure treatments go to plan to provide exceptional service to all our patients. She is qualified in fluoride application, impression-taking as well as customer service provision.
Leanne is very keen to learn new skills, while also staying in touch with her nursing skills. Her favourite part of the job is providing facial aesthetics treatments alongside Dr Zoe Connelly, enabling patients self-esteems to be transformed. In her spare time, Leanne enjoys watching the rugby as well as attending music festivals and events.
Tracey is our practice manager and joined the team in 2017. She has an experience of working in banking for over 30 years. Her role has an emphasis on business development, financial management as well as both staff and patient relations.
Her favourite part of the job is seeing plans come together and positive advancements being made at our practice. Outside of work, Tracey enjoys travelling, particularly to Amsterdam where her son lives!
Rachel is our deputy practice manager and joined the team in 1998. She qualified as a dental nurse in 2003. Rachel’s long standing experience now allows her to devote her time to managing staff and patients at St Michaels dental practice. This includes assistance in financial management as well as organisation of staff rotas and administration. Rachel is famously known for her outstanding baking skills which often make her a very popular lady in our staff room!
Michelle joined the team in May 2019 as one of our receptionists. Michelle dedicates her time to managing and booking patients here at st Michaels as well as organising financial payments. Michelle enjoys socialising, in particular meeting different people daily and ensuring the patient journey is to a high standard. In her free time, Michelle loves going out to eat, her favourite two cuisines being Italian and Indian!
Caroline began her career in dentistry in 2008 and joined our team in 2017. Whilst also being a qualified dental nurse, Caroline dedicates her time on reception managing and booking patients whilst also organising financial payments. Caroline’s naturally comforting nature allows her to put patients at ease and build rapport. Her favourite part of the job is working with our lovely team of ladies to help patients out of pain and see them leaving with a smile. To relax, Caroline loves listening to northern soul!
